විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය උවදුර මුලිනුපුටා දැමීම සඳහා වන රජයේ නව වැඩපිළිවෙල “රටම එකට – ජාතික මෙහෙයුම” ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් 2025.10.30 දින පෙරවරු 10.00ට කොළඹ සුගතදාස ගෘහස්ථ ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේදී ආරම්භ විය. ආගමික නායකයින්, මහජන ආරක්ෂක කමිටුවල කණ්ඩායම්, පොලීසියේ සහ ත්‍රිවිධ හමුදා සාමාජිකයින් මෙන්ම විදේශ තානාපතිවරු ද මෙම ජාතික වැඩසටහන සඳහා සහභාගී වූහ.
මෙරට තරුණ ප්‍රජාවගේ මෙන්ම පාසල් ළමුන්ගේ ද ජීවිත අවධානමට ලක් කර ඇති විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය උවදුර සහ විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ජාවාරම තුරන් කිරීම මෙම වැඩසටහනේ අරමුණ වන අතර, මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය සැපයුම් සහ ඊට ඇති ඉල්ලුම අඩාළ කිරීම සඳහා මහජන සහභාගීත්වයක් යුතු පුළුල් යාන්ත්‍රණයක් සහිතව මෙම ජාතික වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා ජාතික මෙහෙයුම් සභාවක් ස්ථාපිත කර ඇත.
ඒ අනුව, පාසල්, විශ්වවිද්‍යාල, පොලීසිය, ත්‍රිවිධ හමුදාව, ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලය, පළාත් පාලන ආයතන ඇතුළු ආයතන අද සිට මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා එක් කෙරෙනු ඇති. මෙම ජාතික මෙහෙයුම් සභාවේ නායකත්වය සහ මඟපෙන්වීම යටතේ රජය සහ මහජනතාව ඒකාබද්ධ විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය උවදුර මුලිනුපුටා දැමීමේ ජාතික මෙහෙයුම සැලසුම් කරනු ලබයි. ඒ අනුව, එම වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා පුළුල් මහජන සහාය ලබාගැනීමේ යාන්ත්‍රණයක් යෝජනා කරන අතර ඒ සඳහා දිස්ත්‍රික් මෙහෙයුම් සභා, ප්‍රාදේශීය මෙහෙයුම් සභා සහ ග්‍රාමීය මට්ටමෙන් මහජන ආරක්ෂක කමිටුද සහිත ව්‍යුහයක් පිහිටුවීමටද අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ.
මෙම වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව සියලු පළාත් සභා, දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාල, ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාල සහ පළාත් පාලන ආයතනවල නිලධාරින් ප්‍රතිඥාවක් ලබාදීම සිදු කළ අතර, ඌව පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාරවර නීතිඥ ජේ.එම්.කපිල ජයසේකර මැතිතුමාගේ උපදෙස් පරිදි ඌව පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාරවර කාර්යාලය විසින් ද වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කර තිබිණි.
The government’s new program to eradicate the drug menace, “Rata Ekata – National Operation” (Country Together – National Operation), was launched under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on October 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo. Religious leaders, public security committee teams, police and tri-forces members, as well as foreign ambassadors participated in this national program.
The objective of this program is to eliminate the drug menace and drug trafficking that has endangered the lives of the country’s youth as well as school children. A National Operations Council has been established to implement this national program with a broad mechanism requiring public participation to reduce both the supply and demand for drugs.
Accordingly, institutions including schools, universities, police, tri-forces, divisional secretariat offices, and provincial councils will be incorporated into this program from today. Under the leadership and guidance of this National Operations Council, the government and public will jointly plan the national operation to eradicate the drug menace. A mechanism is proposed to obtain broad public support for implementing this program, and it is expected to establish a structure that includes District Operations Councils, Regional Operations Councils, and Public Security Committees at the village level.
Concurrent with this program, officials from all provincial councils, district secretariat offices, divisional secretariat offices, and provincial councils took an oath. As per the instructions of Uva Province Governor Mr. J.M. Kapila Jayasekara, Attorney-at-Law, a program was also organized by the Uva Provincial Governor’s Office.
