සුවහසක් ජනයාගේ සතුට, බලාපොරොත්තු, හා ආදරය ගම් නියම්ගම් පුරා මෙන්ම ලොව පුරා බෙදාහරින තැපැල් සේවාව සමරන ලෝක තැපැල් දිනය ඔක්තෝබර් 09 දිනට යෙදී ඇත. ඒ වෙනුවෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකා තැපැල් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සංවිධානය කළ ජාතික සැමරුම් උත්සවය සෞඛ්‍ය හා ජනමාධ්‍ය කටයුතු පිළිබඳ ගරු අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් බදුල්ල තැපැල් සංකීර්ණ ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේ දී පැවැත්විණි.
151 වන ලෝක තැපැල් දිනය මෙම වර්ෂයේ දී සමරනු ලබන අතර, මෙරට සමරනු ලබන 56 වන ජාතික සැමරුම් උත්සවය ද මෙය වේ.මෙහිදී 151 වන ලෝක තැපැල් දින සැමරුම නිමිත්තෙන් තැපැල් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ මුද්දර කාර්යාංශය මගින් නිකුත් කරනු ලබන සමරු මුද්දර නිකුතුව සෞඛ්‍ය හා ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් සහ සම්භාවනීය ආරාධිත අමුත්තන්ගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් නිකුත් කිරීම සිදු වු අතර, තැපැල් දින සමරු කළාප පිළිගැන්වීම ද මෙහිදී සිදු කෙරිණි.
එමෙන්ම තැපැල් සේවාවේ ආදායම් ප්‍රවර්ධනය සඳහා දායක වූ තැපැල් කාර්යාල ඇගයීම, තැපැල් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව හා එක්ව කටයුතු කරන පෞද්ගලික හා රාජ්‍ය ආයතනවල වල නියෝජිත සේවා කාර්ය සාධනය වෙනුවෙන් ඇගයීම් තිළිණ ප්‍රදානය, 2024 සහ 2025 වර්ෂවල රාජ්‍ය සේවා තරඟ වලින් ජයග්‍රහණය කරන ලද තැපැල් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන් ඇගයීම, ලෝක තැපැල් දිනය වෙනුවෙන් පාසල් දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් පවත්වන ලද විවිධ තරඟවලට අදාළ ත්‍යාග සහ සහතික පත් ප්‍රදානය ඇතුළු තැපැල් සේවාවේ උන්නතිය වෙනුවෙන් කටයුතු කළ තැපැල් සේවකයින් සහ කාර්යාල රැසක් ඇගයීම ද මෙහිදී සිදු විය.

World Post Day, which celebrates the postal service that spreads the happiness, hopes, and love of thousands of people across villages and towns as well as throughout the world, falls on October 9th. The national celebration organized by the Sri Lanka Postal Department for this occasion was held at the Badulla Postal Complex Auditorium under the patronage of the Honorable Minister of Health and Media Affairs, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
The 151st World Post Day is being celebrated this year, and this is also the 56th national celebration held in our country.On this occasion, the commemorative stamp release issued by the Stamp Division of the Postal Department to mark the 151st World Post Day was launched under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, with the participation of honorable invited guests, and the presentation of the postal day commemorative cover also took place.
Additionally, recognition of post offices that contributed to promoting postal service revenue, awarding of appreciation plaques to representatives of private and government institutions working together with the Postal Department for their service performance, recognition of sportsmen and sportswomen of the Postal Department who achieved victories in public service competitions in 2024 and 2025, distribution of prizes and certificates for various competitions held for schoolchildren for World Post Day, and recognition of numerous postal employees and offices who worked for the advancement of postal services also took place.
The Honorable Governor of Uva Province, Attorney-at-Law Kapila Jayasekara, Honorable Member of Parliament for Badulla District Ravindra Bandara, Mayor of Badulla Municipal Council Nandana Hapugoda, Deputy Mayor Sujeewa Peiris, Honorable Chairman of Badulla Pradeshiya Sabha Palitha Atulasiri Jayawardena, Uva Province Governor’s Secretary R.H.C. Priyanthi, Badulla District Secretary Panduka Sri Prabhath, Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara, Deputy Postmaster General (Operations) Premachandra Herath, along with Deputy Postmasters General, postal professionals representing all ranks, and a large gathering participated in this national celebration
